Water Main Line Leak

Hello MCRW Members,

As most of you know on Saturday May 14th early in the morning a leak was found on what the locals refer to as "Junkyard Road". This leak was flowing fast and severe into a creek bottom. This was one of our Main 6 inch lines. Carl, Jimmy, Darren and Steve worked hard all day long to isolate valves and repair this leak. It caused several of our patrons to be without water for several hours. Finally late into the evening the problem was fixed and water could be turned on and restored.

However, because the lines were shut down for a long period of time air has been trapped into the lines and has caused our pump station in Cheyanne Valley to turn off frequently as the air pockets hit it. Tricking the system into thinking there is no water. We have been monitoring the pump station since Sunday morning and have been bleeding the air from the lines. We are hoping that the pressure will build back up and that our patrons in the Valley past the pump station will soon have water and pressures restored by the end of today, Monday 16th.

All of us at MCRW are doing what is possible to keep our members well supplied, we are aware that it is tough when you have thirsty livestock, or household necessities to attend.

A big Thank you for Carl Landin, Jimmy Cowell, Darren Wichert and Steve Elwell for busting tails to get that monster of a situation handled. Thank you for Newley Elwell for your assistance. Thank you, Jason McCullough and Danny Lawrence, for letting us borrow equipment.
